Nikita Aleksandrovich Kurbanov (Russian: Никита Александрович Курбанов, born October 5, 1986) is a Russian professional basketball player who plays for CSKA Moscow of the VTB United League. Standing at Lua error in Module:Convert at line 1851: attempt to index local 'en_value' (a nil value)., he can play at both the small forward and power forward positions.
Professional career
Kurbanov made his professional debut with CSKA Moscow during the 2004-05 season. He then moved to Lokomotiv Rostov, before returning to CSKA Moscow. He joined UNICS Kazan in 2008, and he spent the 2008-09 season with Spartak St. Petersburg. He then moved back to CSKA Moscow once again.
On June 17, 2014, he signed a 1+1 deal with Lokomotiv Kuban.[1]
On June 15, 2015, he signed a two-year contract with the option of third year with his former team CSKA Moscow.[2]
Russian national team
As a member of the junior Russian national basketball teams, Kurbanov led the 2004 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship in scoring and he was named to the competition's All-Tournament First Team. He also won the gold medal with Russia's junior national team at the 2005 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship. He was also named the tournament's MVP.[3]
He has also played with the senior Russian national basketball team at the EuroBasket 2009.
