Shaktisinh Harishchandrasinh Gohil (born 4 April 1960) is an Indian politician and national spokesperson of All India Congress Committee.[1] He is a member of the Indian National Congress and an MLA from Abdasa constituency [2] as of 16 May 2014. Gohil was Minister of State in two consecutive governments from 1991 to March 1995 and held various portfolios like Finance, Education, Health, Environment, Narmada, General Administration Department, Technical Education and Education Policy. He was the youngest minister in Gujarat and had the highest number of portfolios. [3] Gohil was the leader of opposition in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from 2009 to 2012.[4]

Early life and education

Shaktisinh was born on 4 April 1960 at Limda in Bhavnagar district. [5]He is eldest son of royal family of the erstwhile Limda State of Saurashtra region in Gujarat. Grandfather late Shri Ranjitsinhji was a freedom fighter, an active Congress worker and MLA (1967) from gadhda constituency. [6] Shaktisinh has earned degree in B.Sc., LL.M., Diploma in Computers and Diploma in Journalism.[7]
