C. Ben Ostrander reviewed The Malacia Tapestry in The Space Gamer No. 17.[1] Ostrander commented that the novel "is a stylistic and imaginative masterpiece [...] I have no doubt that it is a classic, an example of what can be done with a science fiction novel."[1]
