The Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, in the United States government, is the chief operating officer of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. Nani A. Coloretti was confirmed as the Deputy Secretary by the Senate on December 2, 2014.[1]

The Deputy Secretary is nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate.[2] The previous Deputy Secretary, Ron Sims, served in the capacity from May 2009 to July 2011. Other former Deputy Secretaries include Roy Bernardi, Terrence R. Duvernay,[3] Frank Keating (1990–1993), Alphonso Jackson (2001–2004), Saul N. Ramirez, Jr.,[4] and Alfred A. DelliBovi,[5][6] who was the first Deputy Secretary after the title had been changed from Under Secretary in 1990. The Under Secretary position was created with the establishment of the Department in 1966.[7]
