The 1959 Syracuse Orangemen football team represented Syracuse University in the 1959 NCAA University Division football season. The Orangemen defeated Texas in the Cotton Bowl to claim the first, and still only, national championship in program history. The Syracuse offense scored 413 points while the defense allowed 73 points.[1]
