Category:R&A championships

Golf championships organised or co-organised by The R&A, an offshoot of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews. The individual events always take place in Scotland, England, Wales or Northern Ireland, but some of the team events take place alternately in Great Britain & Ireland, and in either Continental Europe or the United States.

Note that unlike the situation in the United States, where the USGA conducts amateur and professional championships for both men and women, the R&A does not directly organise women's events. Women's golf in Great Britain and Ireland is governed by the Ladies' Golf Union, which is separate from, though affiliated with, the R&A.
