Drake concert chronology

The Club Paradise Tour is the second tour by Canadian recording artist Drake, in support of his second studio album Take Care. Playing over 60 shows in North America and Europe, the tour began in February 2012. Additional dates in the United States were added for the summer. The Club Paradise Tour was the most successful hip-hop tour of 2012, grossing over $42 million worldwide.[citation needed]

The Club Paradise Tour featured other artists such as Nicki Minaj, Waka Flocka, Illy Da King, Chief Keef, Meek Mill and more.[1]

Background

The tour was announced in October 2011, with dates released in December.[2] The first leg of the tour saw the rapper performing at college arenas in the United States. Drake stated in an interview with MTV that the label wanted him to embark on a stadium tour.[3] He further commented,

"I fought for this tour, I fought really hard for this tour because, of course, they want me to go get the big bucks, go into the stadiums and cash out. But I was just like, 'I really made this album for the same people that supported me since day one'".[4]
