Colletorto is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Campobasso in the Italian southern region of Molise, located about 45 kilometres (28 mi) from the capital of region Campobasso and 40 kilometres (25 mi) from Termoli (CB) sea town with port, railway and highway A14 (Adriaric line). As of 31 December 2013, it had a population of 2,016 and an area of 35.9 square kilometres (13.9 sq mi).[1]

Colletorto is situated on a hill 500 m above sea level up to colle Crocella (739 m). In the fields around Colletorto there are fields of cereal, forest and many olive trees of "oliva nera di Colletorto" that makes a special extra virgin olive oil part of the "DOP Molise".

Colletorto is divided in two parts: the upper is called "Colle" and the lower is "Terra", crossing the main road and arriving in the historical center of the town "Campo dei Fiori" (Field of flowers) is the Angioina tower, 25 m high and built in 1369, with an amazing view from the terrace where it is possible to see the Gargano mount (Apulia), the Lake Lesina, the Adriatic Sea, the Tremiti Islands and the Fortore river valley that mark the limit between the Molise and Apulia region.

Monuments are Palazzo Rota, the church of San Giovanni Battista, the church of Purgatorio and the convent united with the church of Sant'Alfonso de Liguori. Very nice to discover are the very small road "Vicoletti" of "Campo dei Fiori" where the smallest is only 34 cm large, the chapel of "Santa Maria di Laureto" 3 km away from the town, on a small hill and surrounded by olive trees.

Colletorto borders the following municipalities: Carlantino, Casalnuovo Monterotaro, San Giuliano di Puglia, Sant'Elia a Pianisi.
