Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Georg Christl (3 October 1913 – 31 March 1991) was a German Luftwaffe ace and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross during World War II. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Georg Christl was credited with 7 aerial victories during World War II.

Christl and Leutnant Karl Schnörrer, Oberst Gordon Gollob, Major Rudolf Schoenert, Hauptmann Heinz Strüning, Major Josef Fözö formed the guard of honor at Walter Nowotny funeral at the Zentralfriedhof in Vienna. Nowotny had been killed in action on 8 November 1944. The eulogy was delivered by General der Jagdflieger Adolf Galland and Generaloberst Otto Deßloch.[1]
