List of FC Porto players
<templatestyles src="Module:Hatnote/styles.css"></templatestyles>
Futebol Clube do Porto is a Portuguese sports club based in Porto, which is best known for the professional football team playing in the country's top-tier Primeira Liga. They played their first match a few days after their foundation in 1893,[1] but only began taking part in local and regional competitions in 1911, when they played the first José Monteiro da Costa Cup.[2] Since then, the team has entered and achieved success in several domestic and international competitions, with the contribution of numerous players. This list includes those players that have made 100 or more competitive match appearances for the first team, either as a member of the starting eleven or as a substitute.
João Pinto holds Porto's record for most appearances, having played in 587 matches during his 16-year career at the club (1981–1997). He is one of only two players to have made over 500 appearances for Porto; the other is former goalkeeper Vítor Baía, who appeared in 566 matches in 17 seasons. Four other players have made at least 400 appearances; among them is former Brazilian defender Aloísio, who holds the club record for most appearances by a foreigner player. Fernando Gomes is Porto's top goalscorer, having netted 347 goals in 455 appearances. The only other player with more than 300 goals is Pinga, who scored 314 times during his 15 seasons with the club.
Three players currently active in the first team have made at least 100 appearances for the club: Brazilian goalkeeper Helton Arruda, who is second to Aloísio as the foreign player with the most club appearances; Mexican midfielder Héctor Herrera, the most recent entry on this list; and Portuguese forward Silvestre Varela.
