Much Wenlock railway station was opened in 1862 by the Much Wenlock and Severn Junction Railway, which formed part of the Wellington to Craven Arms Railway. For much of its working life it was operated by the Great Western Railway.

The passenger service to Cravens Arms ended 31 December 1951, but a passenger service to Wellington continued until 1962.[1]

Today the station building is a private dwelling.
