Romeo Parkes (born 11 November 1990) is a Jamaican international footballer who plays for the Jamaican national team.

Club career

Parkes has played club football for St. George's, Highgate United and Tivoli Gardens.[1] In the summer of 2012, Parkes joined Boys' Town FC on a season-long loan.[2] Also in 2012, Parkes had a two-month trial with Alanyaspor of the Turkish TFF Second League but was not offered a contract.[3]

On 18 February 2016, it was announced that Parkes had signed for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the United Soccer League. He had spent the previous two years with Salvadoran club A.D. Isidro Metapán. In 2014, he helped the team win the Apertura championship and reach the 2015-16 CONCACAF Champions League. In total, he scored 10 league goals for the club.[4]

On 8 May 2016, during a fixture against New York Red Bulls II, Parkes aimed a heavy kick in to the back of New York's Karl Ouimette who was walking off the pitch following a sending off. Ouimette was subsequently stretchered off the pitch.[5] Due to the perceived severity of his actions, Parkes' contract was terminated by Pittsburgh the following day.[6] In total, Parkes scored 5 goals in 6 league matches for the Riverhounds, including a goal in each of his final 5 games for the club.[7]

International career

In August 2011, he was a member of the under-23 national team competing in Olympic qualifying.[8] He made his senior international debut for Jamaica in 2012. Parkes scored his first international goal on 30 March 2015 in a friendly against Cuba.[1] He was named to Jamaica's squad for the 2015 Copa América.[9]
