The Pont-Neuf is a private research center whose objective is to conduct studies and scientific contributions on the various fields of governmental and political activity, inspired by conservative thought.
Political positions and activities
Seeking to participate in the reconstruction of a doctrine of the right, both on classic themes (institutions, legal evolution, European construction, international relations, taxation), and on emerging issues (biotechnologies, transhumanism, data protection, precautionary principle, etc.). It is compared, at least in its aspirations, to Terra Nova, but for the right.
The Pont-Neuf is inspired by the works of Aristotle, Cicero, Hesiod, Balzac, Burke and Chateaubriand; Baudelaire, Bernanos, Bourget, De Gaulle, T. S. Eliot, Halévy, La Varende, Le Play, Lyautey, Mann, Poe, Ramuz, Ruskin, Strauss, Taine, Cardinal von Galen, and the contemporaries Boutang, Freund, Girardet, Kirk, Lasch, Lorenz, Mattei, Muray, Nisbet, Oakeshott, Solzhenitsyn, and Volkoff.
The Pont-Neuf asserts that its opponents are progressivism (Macronism, ultraliberalism and post-democracy, Europeanism and globalism), nihilism (fundamentalist anti-humanism, materialist anti-humanism, theories of gender and species) and utopias.
Personnel
The Pont-Neuf is chaired by Charles Beigbeder, sponsored by Chantal Delsol and Roger Scruton (until his death in 2020). Its general delegate is Frédéric Rouvillois and its development director is Benoît Dumoulin. Olivier Dard is also a stakeholder.
